The Latest at Lifeworks – April 2025

Lifeworks Community,

This year marks the 60^th anniversary of Lifeworks, and I am so excited to be a part of Team Lifeworks for this milestone. As we reflect on our first 60 years, it is clear that we have always been champions for disability inclusion, the very belief that continues to propel us forward today.

From our humble beginnings in 1965 – when families came together to demand better opportunities for their children with disabilities – to today, as we expand our services and push for systemic change, our commitment has never wavered. We know that disability inclusion is not just a value – it is an action, a responsibility, and it is at the heart of everything we do.

This anniversary is a moment to reflect on the impact we have made together. It is also a moment to recognize that our work is far from finished. Still today, people with disabilities are left out of conversations and decisions that affect their lives and are forced to face unnecessary and complicated systems to receive the support they deserve. Lifeworks refuses to accept this reality. We believe that people with disabilities deserve not just a seat at the table, but the power to shape the world around them.

As we embark on our 60^th year, we are celebrating in ways that bring our community – our staff, clients, partners, and supporters. Throughout 2025, we will look back at our history and dive into our founding principles that will carry us through the next 60 years.
