As employees, we spend so much of our time at work. In return, employers are looking for ways to invest more in their employees. Employers encourage us to make contributions to nonprofits like Lifeworks through workplace campaigns – and it can be an easy way to make tax-deductible donations! Here are a few important items to remember when your workplace giving campaign takes place:
You can designate “Lifeworks” as your nonprofit or charity of choice. If you choose to give through a United Way or similar campaign, you can designate Lifeworks to receive all or part of your payroll deduction. Just write “Lifeworks Services, Inc.” as your charity!
You can give through your paycheck. Through payroll deduction, you can have your company deduct a small amount of money from your paycheck each pay period. This is the perfect way to make a larger contribution and pay for it in small, more feasible installments!
You can double your donation! For many companies, offering matches for their employee’s donations allows them to support the things that are important to YOU. Lifeworks is lucky – many companies in our communities provide matching dollars, including Ameriprise Financial, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota, Cargill, Ecolab, General Mills. Medtronic, Securian Financial, U.S. Bank, and many more! If you’re not sure if your workplace offers a match for employee giving, check with your human resources department, or contact Lifeworks at giving@lifeworks.org and we’ll check for you!
