Overview
Required by the federal government through the 21st Century Cures Act, Public Law 114-255, Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) mandates that all personal care services – including 245D, PCA, and FMS – are electronically tracked. It applies to all staff – including those living in the participant’s home – regardless of their familial relationship. To be eligible for full Medicaid matching dollars, the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) is in the process of implementing EVV.
This federal mandate directly impacts Lifeworks Fiscal and In-Home Services. Lifeworks has invested in an EVV-compliant Timekeeping System so that employees can record their time and activities daily in real time and support managers can approve and submit time electronically using their phone, tablet, or computer.
