Lifeworks Community,
This month, Minnesota launched a new self-directed service: Community First Services and Supports (CFSS). CFSS is not just a new name – it is a new approach for self-directed services. CFSS will replace the Personal Care Assistance (PCA) and Consumer Support Grant (CSG) programs, offering a model that gives people with disabilities more choices and an even greater say in decisions about how services are delivered and what their support looks like day-to-day.
While all this good news is exciting, we understand that change can be overwhelming. As the state moves from PCA and CSG to CFSS, Lifeworks wants to ensure that all people impacted by the change – including individuals and families, case managers, lead agencies, and consultation services providers – understand the options and feel comfortable with the process.
As such, we have started hosting CFSS education sessions, in person and online, so everyone can learn about this new service. Our team of experts discusses the details of CFSS and answers your questions because we want everyone to feel equipped to transition to CFSS with confidence. In addition to education sessions, Lifeworks is taking a high-touch approach to make the process seamless for our clients and their families. With personalized intake summits led by our team of experts, Lifeworks will ensure no one navigates this change alone and that all clients are set up for success with CFSS.
If you or a loved one wants to learn more about CFSS or needs help with the transition, please reach out to VP of Programs Kevin Kmetz and kkmetz@lifeworks.org or 612-430-1318.
Warmly,
Gertrude
