The Latest at Lifeworks – August 2024

Lifeworks Community,

I am thrilled to share an exciting update from our North Region: Lifeworks signed a lease for our new Hub in New Hope this month!  This space will offer a welcoming environment where our clients can engage in meaningful activities, connect with their communities, and express themselves through art and other creative pursuits. The Hub will be truly accessible, reflecting the values of inclusion and community at the heart of Lifeworks.

The New Hope Hub is more than just a physical location; it is evidence of our commitment to disability inclusion and creating inclusive communities. At Lifeworks we know that:

Disability inclusion is offering community-based services.

Disability inclusion is a location that welcomes people with disabilities in the heart of their communities among restaurants, shops, and homes.

Disability inclusion is having a central place to meet friends on your way to work, volunteering, or the gym.

Disability inclusion is a safe and comfortable space to meet with Lifeworks staff to uncover all of the resources and options that are available to meet your unique needs.

We’ve heard from many of you across all of Minnesota about the need for a dedicated space in your community—a space that exceeds accessibility standards and fosters creativity, connection, and choice. We intend to learn from our New Hope Hub and aim to replicate its success in new communities in the future.

We look forward to sharing more details about the New Hope Hub in the coming months as we complete renovations and plan an open house event.

If you or someone you know is looking for support, resources, or simply wants to connect to learn more about their service options, please reach out to Emma Rohrer at erohrer@lifeworks.org or 651-332-6822.

Warmly,

Gertrude
